This is the lead network administration role in the organisation, providing network, server, and desktop support to external and internal customers for the company and other companies as agreed. The role includes the management of a small team of Network Administrators.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead the Network Administration team for the organisation, including personnel management of a small team of Network Administrators. Ensure all IT and telephony infrastructure is correctly acquired, maintained and upgraded in accordance with business need. This will include:
· Network administration for the organisation and other agreed companies in the Group.
· Network administration for other companies that the company may contract with.
· Manage and personally provide out-of-hours support for selected companies, for which further remuneration is offered.
· Provide network, server, PC, and telephony support including managing live systems sited in data centre(s).
· Provide all levels of helpdesk support to end users.
· Acquire, implement, set up, and maintain systems hardware and software.
· Visit customer sites using your own transport (for which expenses are paid).
· Speak to customers in a non-IT manner to resolve IT-related issues.
· Support the software development team, who develop and maintain the Company’s products.
Skills and Experience
The following technical skills are essential:
· Qualification to at least MCSA or equivalent standard.
· Experience of managing office IT systems.
· Windows 2003 Server experience.
· Microsoft Windows client operating systems – Windows 2000, XP, Vista, including relevant versions of Office.
· MS Exchange/Outlook management skills.
· MS SQL Server support and maintenance.
· HP/Compaq server support, including ideally performance management.
· Microsoft Network monitoring and support.
· Support and maintenance of company website.
· Experience of most of the following: routers, office cabling, firewalls, TCP/IP, Active Directory, scripting, VPN, security devices and software.
· Support of standard office peripherals.
The following technical skills are desirable:
· MCSE, CCNA or equivalent qualified.
· Experience of supporting an internal software development team.
· Production IIS support.
· Experience of web servers and web services.
· Experience of administering security certificates.
· Microsoft SharePoint implementation and support experience.
· Experience of VMware.
· Experience of maintaining IP telephony system.
· Experience of managing Linux systems.

The Senior Network Administrator / Team Leader will be able to earn a salary of £35,000 per year, with a £5,000 training budget per year and 25 days holiday entitlement.
